• It is any product designed for a single use after which is disposed of, whether into garbage or a waste diversion stream, as solid waste. Typically, these products are not designed for durability or reuse.
• Examples are plastic cutlery, plastic straws, coffee cups, plastic water bottles, plastic cups, black plastic containers, plastic bags, Styrofoam
• An average person uses 167 water bottles a year. They spend $100 each year on water bottles! A water jug with a filter can replace 300 bottles of water and reduce the cost to $5 to $10 per year.
• Reusing means to take something that has been used before and use it again for the same purpose or a different purpose.
• Examples include: Reusable water bottles , Tupperware containers, glass jars, and cloth bags
